The Run It Back January Review

Each new year always brings new opportunities, and Run It Back is focused on turning opportunities into community benefits. To kick off the new year, we focused on providing our community with new chances to connect, learn, and play together. Let’s take a look at how we did in January!

We wanted to start the year off strong with plenty of networking and connection opportunities. To facilitate this, we placed a focus on creating places where people could come together—open runs.

During the month of January, we were able to host three open runs around the United States. Our open runs were held in California, Georgia, and New York.

Offering open runs in these key areas brings us one step closer to our goal of growing our community. With every open run that we host, we present more people with the chance to explore co-ed basketball and understand the value that nonprofit athletic organizations can bring.

Our Largest Open Run Yet

Every open run that we host is different. Communities change depending on where you live, what is popular, and what kind of opportunities people are actively seeking.

As we aim to accommodate these interests, we are placing an emphasis on finding new ways to connect with local communities in order to establish lasting relationships with people who are looking to improve their lives through a shared love of co-ed sports, group basketball games, and young professional networking events.

In the month of January, we hosted several open runs, but one came with a happy announcement—our best turnout yet. Bringing together 35 unique co-ed basketball players to bond and have fun was a wonderful accomplishment for the Run It Back community.

We look forward to breaking more of our personal records as the year progresses!

Community Growth

With the growing number of open runs and participating players, it should come as no surprise that the Run It Back community is actively growing. At the end of January, Run It Back grew to include over 1,100 athletes.

As our community continues to grow, we will be ready to welcome in the new members, but we are already so proud of the Run It Back community. 1,100 is just the start. Throughout 2023, we expect to see the community continue to grow as word spreads and we continue to expand our reach.

Nationwide Attention

In line with our goal of reaching more co-ed basketball enthusiasts and industry professionals, Run It Back is always looking for new ways to share our message. At the start of the year, Run It Back founder Lexi Mickens was invited to speak on the Tamron Hall Show. During her interview, she shared the mission and vision for Run It Back with a nationwide audience. This was a wonderful opportunity to shine a spotlight on Run It Back and reach more players!

A Great Start to the Year

The new year started off with many exciting opportunities for the Run It Back community, and we expect each new month to bring more positive developments.

As we continue to expand our reach and bring more people together, our basketball nonprofit will continue to support and enhance the communities that it touches. January was a wonderful start to our new year, and we look forward to sharing future developments with our community each month!
