As basketball lovers, there are few things that we love more than winning—but some victories carry a special weight with them. In 2022, we had the opportunity to share Run It Back and all the good it does with creator and innovator DJ Khaled.
Read on to learn how we won and what it means for Run It Back members!
What is the #KhaledDid Contest?
DJ Khaled and Snipes announced their partnership in 2019 when DJ Khaled was named as the Chief Creative Officer of the company. Together, they have started introducing countless new projects, including an online contest.
The #KhaledDid contest was announced on social media offering a large check to help a lucky winner build upon their dreams. The contest asked everyone to talk about their dreams and how they would use their winnings to bring them to life.
How Run It Back Won
In December of 2022, Run It Back received an exciting announcement—we won DJ Khaled x Snipes #KhaledDid contest. So, how did it happen?
The contest itself was for an individual to share their dream through a video in hopes of receiving funding. In order to win, the dream was supposed to have a huge impact. As our players know, Run It Back doesn’t do anything small!
Our founder Lexi Mickens sent a video into the contest hoping to secure more funding for our cause—and it worked. Run It Back was chosen as a winner. You can see our founder’s video here.
What Did We Win?
The reason that the contest required a compelling video was because of the prize—$15,000. Our nonprofit received this funding to further our mission of building a network and helping to establish connections through a shared love of basketball. With the prize, we will be able to continue to improve Run It Back and reach more people.
Looking to the Future
Run It Back is growing by the day, and we look forward to providing more co-ed basketball players with a shared space to collaborate. Balancing young professional networking events with group basketball games, we are proud to stand among nonprofit athletic organizations that are trying to make the world a better place.
We are so grateful to DJ Khaled and Snipes for this opportunity—and we look forward to using our funding to make Run It Back even better!
